The SFR website is blocked abroad
The Social Fund of Russia (SFR) is the body that merged the Pension Fund (PFR) and the Social Insurance Fund (FSS). Its website, sfr.gov.ru, is — like other government resources — closed to connections from foreign IPs. Opening it from abroad gives an error or a blank screen.
Why access to SFR matters
This is a real problem for pensioners, families with children and benefit recipients living abroad:
- No way to apply for monthly child benefits
- No way to order a statement of your pension or payments
- No way to check that the pension actually reached your account
- Trouble managing maternity capital
Many filings have hard deadlines, and flying to Russia for an in-person visit is slow and expensive.
The fix: a Russian IP via VPN
